The Urban Movement Innovation Fund is a donor’s collaborative founded by international philanthropies. We support, incubate, and accelerate strategic elements of the climate movement through cooperation with partners for disruptive, scalable, greenhouse gas mitigation.

    November 30, 2021 - All times in UTC

  • We will work together in parallel conversations to gather perspectives from the various groups and members of our community to build a picture of what seems important and a sense of the landscape as seen from our diverse viewpoints and contexts. You can expect in-depth discussions with peers from across the region, working on a variety of complementary issues in different ways. As we pull together a bigger picture view with each group, our hope is that participants will emerge with a more sophisticated situation analysis for planning partnerships and projects in the coming year.

  • Day 2

    December 1, 2021 - All times in UTC

  • For this session, you are warmly invited to join us as UMI Fund hosts a global community gathering of partners, fellow travelers and funders. Together we will exchange stories and discuss the lessons of the past year, before sharing our hopes, intentions and priorities for the coming year.

    We’ll have some dedicated time hearing from some of the big climate funders, deepening our understanding of their world. A deep, participatory discussion for everyone will bring the experience and expertise of the whole group to reflect, gain insights, and spot opportunities.

    Our hope is that everyone taking part will benefit, leaving inspired, energised and with new ideas and connections to help supercharge our collective impact.

  • Our final day will feature parallel discussions run simultaneously and repeated for each timezone. We will explore some critical strategic questions and identify priorities and areas for action in 2022 across our 3 UMI Fund programme funding areas: mobility/transport, fair transition and the global youth movement.

    You can expect to join colleagues working on similar challenges and strategies to grapple granular and challenging strategic issues in self-selected groups.

    Our hope is that we can develop some collective plans for shared action or guidance for UMI Fund on the chosen key topics within these thematic areas.
